Neighborhood Network Centers

EducationWorks has partnered with the Chester Housing Authority (CHA) to create and maintain Network Neighborhood Centers (NNC) in Chester’s public housing complexes. The Centers are fully operational computer labs for youth and adults to access computer resources for school, work, and personal needs.

EducationWorks is also providing 8 week programs for residents on job readiness, computer literacy, and technology for small businesses in the Centers. Programs include:

Personal Computing
  • Keyboarding
  • Computer hardware
  • Mastering Microsoft Office applications, emphasizing Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer
  • Using of top job search engines
  • Creating a personal website
Small Business Computing
  • Creating a small business website
  • Assessing financial bookkeeping systems
  • Using an Access database to track inventory
  • Advertising on the Web
  • Mastering Microsoft applications emphasizing Excel and PowerPoint

Participants complete the program with a portfolio that includes resumes, cover letters, personal or small business budgets and inventory, and school project or small business PowerPoint presentations.
