Why Take Action

For more than 16 years, EducationWorks staff and AmeriCorps members have served students in classrooms and out-of-school time programs, working to improve the learning experience for children who live in areas of high poverty and attend under-resourced schools.  With your support, we provide these educational programs and services to 15,000 students and their families every year.

EducationWorks serves families like that of Ms. Conchetta Logan, whose two sons attend our programs in Philadelphia.  As a sixth grader, her older son Clifton was reading at a 4th grade level.  Over the course of one year, our programs helped Clifton improve to an 8th grade reading level.  Working with Ms. Logan’s younger son, Jordan, we discovered that a vision problem was the cause of his academic struggles.  Ms. Logan chose our programs because they provided a safe environment for her children after school and during the summer. She discovered a caring staff who created a challenging and engaging environment and went above and beyond to help her children.

Join us, and your generosity will help create and support learning opportunities for students in Philadelphia, Chester, Trenton and Camden to improve academically, stay safe, graduate, and give back to their communities.
