Ways to Give
Check
If you would like to make a contribution by check, please make the check payable to "EducationWorks, Inc." If you are making a contribution in honor or memory of someone, please include the name and address of a person to whom you would like us to send an acknowledgement.
Buy and Sell On-line
In 2003, eBay invited the Points of Light Foundation to build a solution that would offer their millions of users an easy way to support favorite causes through trading in the World's Online Marketplace®. The service, MissionFish, provides a safe and easy way to do just that!
So, if you buy or sell online, use MissionFish as your charity auction site and make a donation to EducationWorks at the same time. You can register a portion of your transaction to come directly to us.
Employer Match
Does your workplace match your donations? If so, follow your employer's procedure to double your gift by adding a donation from your employer.
Bequests
Advance planning will enable the gift to be exempt from estate taxes. All donations through these forms of giving are 100% tax-deductible for income and estate calculations if no goods or services are received in exchange.
Stocks and Property
The donation of appreciated stock or property has two special tax advantages. You avoid paying the capital gains tax and you can claim the current fully appreciated market value as a tax-deductible charitable contribution.
PA Corporate Tax Credit
The PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program can earn a credit up to $200,000 for a corporation or business subject to the following Pennsylvania taxes: Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax, Title Insurance Company Shares Tax, Insurance Premiums Tax, or Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax. To receive a tax credit, businesses must make contributions to state-approved educational improvement and/or scholarship organizations. EducationWorks is a state-certified educational improvement agency for this program.
Through this program, a corporation can make a donation to EducationWorks that can result in tax benefits up to 135% of the donation. Action must be taken on July 1st each year; however, the planning begins months prior. More details.
Goods and Services
We accept individual and corporate contributions of goods and services that will help reduce operating costs and, thus, enable us to provide more services to children. Contributions range from supplies used in schools, refreshments, member and staff training, and bus transportation.
